These repurposed vending machines disrupt conventional notions of gallery space and art economies. This gives us the rare opportunity as artists to play the roles of curator, business owner and fabricator, all in a small container. A satirical view of the business of art from the perspective of new artists, the quick production of many items (often found and repurposed from the Chinatown neighbourhood) allows us to explore social, political and scientific topics of interest in a light-hearted way. These cultural dispensing machines sell affordable and consumable artworks including (fan)zines, tiny sculptures, text art, drawings, handmade toys and other creations and will be displayed in galleries and shops in the area.
