ABOUT

Contact: dh@dhstudios.org/ IG @deniseh1111

I gratefully live and work on the Unceded Territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

My work explores the power structures we are immersed in, particularly those that are so ingrained that they seem invisible. I use predominantly sculpture, and text often turning ideas literally upside down, inside out and backward to express ideas in a satirical way. These sculptures act as the catalyst for further discussion, research and participation in ongoing works. I largely explore my perception of the constructs of a capitalist and patriarchal world through the lens of feminism and decolonization.
