About @deniseh1111

My work explores the power structures we are immersed in, particularly those that are so ingrained that they seem invisible. I use predominantly sculpture and text, often turning ideas literally upside down, inside out and backward to express ideas in a satirical way.

Concrete, plaster, fabric and ready-made cultural objects comprise the majority of my work as I seek to disrupt their meaning in order to draw attention to alternative views concerning power. I largely explore my perception of the constructs of a capitalist and patriarchal world through the lens of feminism and decolonization.
